Flu and Covid Vaccine Clinic

We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer both the flu and covid vaccine to our eligible patients for the up coming campaign. 

We will be running Saturday clinics on the following dates:  October 5th, 12th and 26th with a possibility of one further catch up clinic.

If you are eligible for a vaccine, you will receive an appointment in the post in the next few weeks.  We encourage you to attend but if you do wish to cancel,  please follow the instructions in the letter so we can use your appointment for another patient.

Groups eligible for a vaccine in Wales as follows:

• children aged two and three years on 31 August 2024

• school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive)

• people aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group:

chronic respiratory disease i.e. COPD or asthma requiring regular steroids

chronic heart, kidney, or liver disease

Chronic neurological disease such as Parkinson's or motor neurone disease,

Stroke

Learning Disability

Severe Mental Illness

Diabetes

Epilepsy

Immunosuppressed such as HIV or receiving cancer treatment,

Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen,

BMI 40 plus

• people aged 65 years and older (age on 31 March 2025)

• all adult residents in Welsh prisons

• pregnant women

• carers of a person whose health or welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill

• frontline health and care workers

• people experiencing homelessness

• household contacts of the immunocompromised

As a surgery we rely on the funding we receive for running these clinics and we thank you for supporting us by attending the surgery for your flu vaccine.
